PlanesWalker: Hey everyone, bcdefg123 will no longer be doing the interviews so I PlanesWalker will be taking over, and to start off my reporting career I bring you guys Pyh189

PlanesWalker: Ok. First, tell us a bit about yourself if you want, what kinds of games you play, what other hobbies you have, things you enjoy doing, etc.

Pyh189: You might find it surprising, but I'm not much of a gamer in terms of the number of games I play. I only focus on one or two games at a time but I try to do as best I could. Besides SSBM, I have also done a speedrun of Majora's Mask on Speed Demos Archive. However, I only play games on weekends because schoolwork takes up most of my time on the weekdays. As for other hobbies, I enjoy running and playing piano.

PlanesWalker: How much time have you put into SSBM to become this good at it?

Pyh189: It started almost four and a half years ago when I played Home Run Contest competitively, going for records and high scores. I joined a tight-knit community on the GameFAQs message boards and discussed strategies with other members. When HRC became dull and repetitive, I decided to compete in other single player modes, especially Multi-Man Melee. I have shifted to different single player modes for almost four years now, and the cumulative knowledge has allowed me to easily get these high scores.

PlanesWalker: There is a lot of modes in the game, what is your favorite, and your least favorite and why?

Pyh189: That's a tough question. My favorite “mode” is probably Adventure mode, not playing for points but for the fastest time on each level. Your site launched this only a few months ago, but I have enjoyed it from the beginning because it breeds new thought and strategy. My least favorite? Probably Target Test because I was never any good at it. The good players make it look so easy.

PlanesWalker: Who is your favorite and least favorite character to use?

Pyh189: My favorite character overall is Captain Falcon because of his speed and quick attacks. However, in versus mode I normally use Falco. My least favorite is Peach because of her strange jump abilities. Also, I have had the most trouble getting high scores with her in any mode I've tried.

PlanesWalker: Really, I would take Gannondorf slow and power over C. Falcon speeds, but that’s me. Is there any record that you are very proud of, and why?

Pyh189: My Pikachu 100 Man Melee time of 1:44.77 ranks high on my list. It was imperfect, but I believe it's still unbroken at the time of this writing. (Now that I mentioned it, everyone's going to try to beat it.) I had others that I was proud of, but most of those were already beaten.
I believe it still stands

PlanesWalker: Indeed it still does. Will we be seeing Pyh189 dominate in any other games in the future?

Pyh189: It would be nice if I could dominate the Brawl charts too. However, I don't know how much free time, if any, I'm going to have in the next couple years. My name might just fade into history.

PlanesWalker: I'm sure your name will not be forgotten by the players of melee. Any tips, final words?

Pyh189: The key to new records is always to try something new. Think of all the different possibilities and try each one. Sometimes the best method is the least obvious. This isn't SSBM-related, but I still remember when TSA found out in Majora's Mask that shooting Deku bubbles was one of the fastest ways to kill the Ikana king and his henchmen. It's one of the weakest attacks otherwise, but for some strange reason it kills them in two hits. I thank Cyberscore for managing such a comprehensive site. It must be extremely tough to deal with so many games and the random joke accounts.

PlanesWalker: Thank you for your time and Cyberscore thanks you for taking SSBM to a whole new level.
